Jimmy, Here in San Diego there has not been a severe shortage of jaz drives. Although some stores have been out, Byte and Floppy has always had plenty of externals; that's where I bought mine. I've seen them at Computer City and CompUSA. Also, according to KE, if I recall correctly, the ramp is proceeding better than the zip ramp did at the same stage of it's life. So, capacity may be constrained just as the zips was; however, the lead of jaz over the Syjet is still very large, comparable to the lead the zip had over the discontinued EZ135.

In power user "communities" like the graphics community, portability will be an important a factor in choosing between jaz/syjet. You have to be able to take your full color poster art to the service bureau or printer. If they all have jaz it makes no sense to go with anyhting else. Same logic as applies to zip in the general computer user population.

Also, Syquest does not have a good reputation at all in graphics business. Unreliable. The carts even sound cheap with the familiar Syquest rattle. Jaz has a patented anti-rattle device. Take a cart of each out and shake them, you'll hear the difference.

Iomega should focus on the zip , I agree. But, jaz will be bigger than you believe, in my opinion.

Ken
