An e-mail I received from Mr. Loring

Dear Mr. Jones

Your email of earlier today has been referred to me as Chairman
of Astrex, Inc.

Initially I would like to thank you for your interest and kind words. A
decade ago for a variety of reasons Astrex was a seriously
troubled company,
but through the outstanding work of everyone at Astrex, and most
especially our CEO Michael McGuire, the company once again is
on sound footing.

During the past decade our attention has necessarily been
focused on the substantive business of the company and under
Mr. McGuire's leadership we
have expanded, refocused and reconfigured our lines to meet
contemporary customer demands; we have expanded our
markets; we have moved from costly 'factor' financing to traditional
banking arrangements; and we have secured
ISO9002 quality certification. All of this, as previously reported, is
reflected in our increasing sales and bookings over recent years
and for which, looking back at where we were, we take much
pride.

Throughout this rebuilding period we have continued to be an
SEC reporting public company, but because the market for our
common stock was very quiet
and frankly because the focus of our efforts was Astrex's
substantive business, our public relations activity has been limited
to our SEC reports and the occasional press releases when
warranted by company events.

We are neither of the size nor of the make up to begin a 'PR'
campaign simply to obtain a higher visibility. We our most proud
of what we have
accomplished and what we are accomplishing but we are equally
aware of the opportunities for positive and responsible growth that
lay before us, and it
is those opportunities that command our efforts and attention.

On the other hand we are also aware of the recent market activity
and take
our responsibility to our shareholders most seriously. In light of the
increased interest in our company we feel it would be appropriate
for us to
issue a year's end press release in April (our fiscal year ends on
March 31) rather then simply filing a June SEC Form 10Ksb report
as we have in the past.

Again let me thank you for your confidence in our company, we are
honored to
have earned it and accept the responsibility of continuing to
warrant it.

Very truly yours,

John C. Loring
