Sort of a moot point. NATO would have never approved of Georgia doing what they did.

I think it is pretty obvious they would have defended them for attacking Russians invading their country. I don't know if they would have advised it as a smart move, but they would have defended their decision. In fact recent news is that Condi Rice advised the Georgians not to attack the occupying Russians. Maybe they decided diplomacy wasn't working.


And yet publicly she was their cheerleader telling them that a NATO membership was nearly in the bag and encouraging them to take a strong stance with S. Ossetia. Does that make Condi bipolar?
