I wouldn't go so far on the MSFT comparison ... in fact ... I wouldn't go there at all.

The reasons for the MSFT decline IMO is the 20 point increase prior to the decline. Two problems here:

1. Run up to earnings, Sell on news.
2. Disappointment that earnings didn't beat the street by 2000%!!

Nothing is good enough in this market. Crazy buys on earnings coming out. Crazy sells no matter what the news.

IBM may be a little different (like INTC was) only because their P/E is reasonable @ ~ 15. But MSFT was doomed no matter what the report IMO. In fact, I wrote myself a note to buy MSFT puts the day of their report, but didn't have the guts to put the order in! Oh Well.
