Just noticed that the new beta spybot adds a resident protection icon to the Systray with right click options. Checked msconfig to see if this resident protection was added to startup and it's called TeaTimer. Yesterday I installed Quicktime and it added an updater (qttask). I unchecked it and hit apply and SpyBot popped up and warned me of a registry change being made and gave me options to allow the change and whether to remember the change or not. I checked the remember box and hit the apply change button and was then prompted to restart as is normal with an msconfig change. Restarted and SpyBot issues me another "warning" about he change. This appears to work similar to a program I used to run called Startup Cop. So far, so good.
