The thing that always cracks me up wrt Hochuli is his 10-min. mansplaining for each call... maybe it's his legal training/day job influence... I agree, he used to be all about getting attn and wearing too tight unis to show off his body building, along with some "poses" casually thrown in... but I agree that the last few years, he's toned it way down (age? wisdom?)...

Back when we still cared in San Diego, we liked to delude ourselves that he was newly humbled after making a bad call that resulted in the NFL creating a rule that was immediately named by the public as the Hochuli rule (announcers, I think, actually started calling it that)... we could as Blue/bill3425 how a ref (or in his case, an ump) feels when a rule gets named after them because they blew a call, but I'd assume it's not a good feeling and maybe it really did change Ed to a more humble ref...

Whatever changed him, I actually enjoy watching games he refs in just because of the lengthy explanations on even the more basic calls.
