Powell could have quit and been replaced by a hard rightwing neocon. What good would that have done the world? Powell is loyal by nature being a lifelong soldier. he was used by Bush as a token black and to lie for him at the UN. It's a shame. Powell knows this now. Condi Rice may have figured it out as well. has there ever been someone as poorly qualified as Rice to be NSA?
