Dustin Hoffman Goes Deep Unlike Michael Moore, Dustin Hoffman was subdued and dignified at the Academy Awards this year. Now we know why. Hoffman came to the realization that such statements were not appropriate at that place and time. The actor told World Entertainment News Network, "I was all too aware that on the night of the Academy Awards, 15 Marines had been killed - kids my son's age. And their families, I'm sure, did not have the Academy Awards turned on that night.
