Can love happen between a cat and a dog? Oh, but Yes! The standard poodle down the hall and one of my cats are strangely infatuated with each other. Neither can be in the hall without running up to the door of the other and whimpering to be let in the door to see their "friend". Once the door is opened, they just sit and stare at one another without moving a muscle and both get very quiet. Not one bark or hiss... but a lot of fussing when it is time to go. LGC begs to stay and hisses at me when I pick her up to leave. c
