Had a very disappointing experience today purchasing an item of furniture at RTSO. While their furniture selection is quite good, I was surprised at the primitive nature of their information systems and inventory management. In my transaction (which should have been a garden variety transaction) they filled out paper forms; couldn't read the price on a *handwritten* price list at the register; and couldn't tell me whether or not they had the pieces in stock locally (pieces of the same furniture that were somehow required to be treated as separate credit card transactions because their warehouse somehow divvies up the inventory among several local stores!?). And the clerk acted like this was business as usual. You would think that a chain with 77 stores would have much better systems and controls ... hmmmm.
