01 Communique announces anticipated support for Linux Operating System in 2000!

TORONTO, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - 01 Communique Laboratory Inc., a leader in third-
wave (unified messaging) communication software solutions, in response to
investor enquiries, announced today that it anticipates completing the
enhancement of its product line to be compatible with the Linux Operating
System by the third quarter of 2000.
The Company's current product line is a desktop solution targeted at the
growing SOHO (Small Office Home Office) market and operates in a Windows 95,
98 and NT environment. The newest addition to the product line, the
COMMUNICATE! i2000, expected to begin shipping in January, 2000, has all the
functionality of the existing product line plus enhanced Internet applications
including video conferencing and monitoring, and text-to-speech technology for
remote reading of, and replying to, messages. With the increasing popularity
and acceptance of the Linux Operating System for the desktop, the Company is
enhancing its entire product offering including the COMMUNICATE! i2000 to be
fully compatible with Linux.

The next generation of products will be server based communications
software products similar in functionality to the COMMUNICATE! i2000; but,
designed to operate in a client/server environment. These products are
intended to be fully compatible with both Linux and Windows 2000.
Management is very enthusiastic about the business prospects for the
Company by pursuing this path. "We believe the Linux Operating System has the
potential to enhance the market for consumer software applications such as 01
Communique's COMMUNICATE! line of products," says Andrew Cheung, President and
CEO of 01 Communique. "Our vision for the future is to develop communication
software solutions that will support Linux servers in the corporate office,
embedded systems for the mobile user and consumer versions for the Linux
desktop."
