01 Communique announces anticipated support for Linux Operating System in 2000!
TORONTO, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - 01 Communique Laboratory Inc., a leader in third- wave (unified messaging) communication software solutions, in response to investor enquiries, announced today that it anticipates completing the enhancement of its product line to be compatible with the Linux Operating System by the third quarter of 2000. The Company's current product line is a desktop solution targeted at the growing SOHO (Small Office Home Office) market and operates in a Windows 95, 98 and NT environment. The newest addition to the product line, the COMMUNICATE! i2000, expected to begin shipping in January, 2000, has all the functionality of the existing product line plus enhanced Internet applications including video conferencing and monitoring, and text-to-speech technology for remote reading of, and replying to, messages. With the increasing popularity and acceptance of the Linux Operating System for the desktop, the Company is enhancing its entire product offering including the COMMUNICATE! i2000 to be fully compatible with Linux.
The next generation of products will be server based communications software products similar in functionality to the COMMUNICATE! i2000; but, designed to operate in a client/server environment. These products are intended to be fully compatible with both Linux and Windows 2000. Management is very enthusiastic about the business prospects for the Company by pursuing this path.
