I am almost embarrassed to tell you what was wrong. O.K. I have to as you all have been so great in trying to help me.

Well, first thing. I got a laptop... I never had one previously. In Florida I have a very low desk which allows me to sit above the computer. Here in the mountains.....naturally I have a high desk. I did not disable the touch pad and of course my 73 year old hands have inadvertently been touching the TOUCH PAD when I tried to type. A friend stopped by yesterday and saw my plight...laughed a little and showed me the turn off button for the touch pad which of course I did not need with an external mouse... I have the turn off button covered with scotch tape. AND IT STILL GOT ACTIVATED earlier and I lost another e mail.

NOW to more serious stuff. This friend just got the WORM in her computer. She did not have a firewall. I do not either. I have Norton, Adaware and Spyware. Do I NEED A FIREWALL AND HOW DOES ONE DOWNLOAD ONE.

OODLES AND OODLES OF THANKS
