Good analysis. Let me add that while Dems have overestimated the ability of Americans to get what's going on, Republicans have traditionally underestimated Americans. I think that's wrong this year. Watching those people in the Springfield plaza standing for hours under the blazing Illinois sun and I realized that the media does have it right for a change.......something powerful is really happening. Americans don't get all that jazzed about politics and politicians, and yet they throng every time Obama makes an appearance. Its going to be a tough race but I think he may win.

I may have missed something, but I think this pretty much sums it up.
