I look at it the other way around. If a bad quarter was in the offing, they would not do an offering, as lawsuits would follow ... Good point! And the underwriters would be scurrying for cover also. CIEN just had a secondary which depressed the stock for a couple of days. (No need to debate here if the price is justified in the first place.) Offering sold at $44, stock now at $46+. Notice that most of the secondary was insiders, however. That would be expected to depress the stock more so than in MRVCs case. biz.yahoo.com Grommit
