MSFT shareholder? No wonder you're confused.

MSFT is currently benefitting from having been awarded
Dowhood (institutions wholesale selling the NASDAQ and
buying the Dow defensively). Ironically, it was the death
of the PC news that precipitated the shift. That creates a
situation where quality NASDAQ equities are 'on sale'. SUNW
is one. MSFT is not.

MSFT is reliant on a business model that's no longer
serving them (even if the DoJ thing were to stop dead in
it's tracks right here). Hopes of MS morphing into a new
model aside, their 'balance sheet' reports organic
revenue (revenue not from investments) is declining. I
don't know about last quarter, but the quarter before that,
they actually had negative revenue growth. And that with
their hot new product (W2K) well into it's cycle. That's
not a good thing from an investor standpoint. It makes MSFT
a mutual fund with a multiple.

MS has lost it's developer mindshare, has a static (not
moving) minority server market share, both of which making
the .NET ('The Network is the EULA') a non-starter. They're
going to need to sell a LOT of XBoxes. My sense is that
it's an understatement to say that that expectation is
currently built into the MSFT share price.

These 'market movers' of yours can congaline serpantine as
they do, but the fact is that once the macro picture
(economy) gets back in the groove, SUNW will continue
growing it's new-leader market cap through vision and
execution as it has, and MSFT will continue lowering
expectations and shrinking it's ex-leader market cap right
there in front of you on the desktop, as *it has. (IMO)
