What is your obsession with the mugger? Are you trying to say that you should just hand over your money to the mugger? If that's what you believe, why are we even having an argument? All I'm saying is that, some may consider the taxman a mugger, but because he is the law enforcement, you just hand over your money and get on with your life; pursue lower tax rate through legal venues like election instead of keep stalking the taxman trying to get your money back. Keep find themselves on the wrong side of the law is what Palestinians, at least their leadership, have been doing, and finding themselves in worse and worse condition.
Thank you for recounting the grievances the Mexicans have. It's just one example of how every people in the world can find some axe to grind if they really want to; heck, even the Anglo-Saxons can blame the Norman conqurors if not the Roman conqurors if they really want to. Yet, Mexicans have done themselves a great service by not obsessing over the grievances, and cooperate with their northern neighbor in every sphere of economic life. The Mexicans in general are certainly doing a lot better than the Chiapas rebels, who in turn a somewhat better off than the Palestinians. The more grievance-obsessed, the worse off a people gets.
BTW, don't give me that my-ancestors were holier than yours crap. Numerous species of animals had their habitat destroyed when the native Americans burned down the forests to let Tatonka flourish; that is, after they hunted numerous macrofauna to extinction after immigrating across the Berring Straight. Also, don't assume I'm an anglo. I'm actually an asian by ethnicity; in terms of blood ties, probably more closely associated with the "natives" of North America than youself if you have had any Spaniard blood mixed in your blood stream. |
