Jay,

... Why don't you wait for memory prices to reverse before theorizing a rally in the SOX.

If I wait for everyone else to enter the prices will have already moved. I pick the prices at which I'm comfortable entering.

Are there short term technical reasons for your thinking?

No, other than some of the leaders are now outstanding buys. There's nothing wrong with their fundamentals as long as one has a time horizon longer than next Tuesday. :-)

Intel already pushed out the Texas Fab. If Andy Grove can't make a buck on commodity chips, whats next?

Surely you're aware that the Texas fab was pushed out because of INTC's acquisition of DEC's fabs.

... and by the way, INTC has not attributed its success for the last decade to commodity chips. ... unless of course, the Pentium family is now a commodity chip. ;-)

Season's greetings,
Ian.
