QS, What's up with that Ultra Sparc III? When are the servers coming out that have more than one processor? I think my prediction from about 9 months ago that we wouldn't see the USIII anytime soon was dead on the money. The logic was sound that rolling it out in single processor workstations was a clear sign that there were problems with the SMP setups and this was a desperation attempt to satisfy shareholders, and maybe convince some customers it was right around the corner. I'm hearing it ain't exactly ready for it to be in the E10000 yet. We shall see, but my bet now is that there won't be snow on the ground in my neck of the woods by the time they get that sucker rolled out [unless of course it's delayed until next winter. -ggg-]. chic PS- not like this is seeming to matter much, I don't see Sun losing any market share, but with these kind of big purchases it may take some time for the evidence to show up. BWTFDIK?
