Thank you every one for your input.

SK index is about 350 down from 800 = > 50% correction
Won is also more than 50% depreciated.

Hence if Samsung (for example) had X (Won) market cap at its
peak it is likely that today it is .5X. Further convertin it
in $$, today it is worth to US .5(.5X) = .25X = 75% markdown!

Given that fabs cannot be shutdown like auto plants since the
daily expense in maintenance itself will run in millions -
Koreans may be inclined to give maintenance deals to outside
companies and great fab deals to producers. I agree that
current situation is very grim. Probably, expansion is not
on companies minds right now - rather survival. Companies
like AMAT can buy some patents for cheap though.

I believe SK government has recently chnged foreign ownership
% limit to 50%. Which probably makes it possible to someone to
jump in. Realistically, companies like Samsung, Hyundai, LG
must have maintenance contract with AMAT and others - those
are in trouble or in return they can get something for free?

Any thoughts welcome!
