<I believe our foreign policy is now taking the higher road.>

Unfortunately what is the higher road for one might well be the lower road for someone else. It is all in the eyes of the beholder as they say.

If you believe that democracy and the voting box has some merit, as you insinuate, then you would have to consider that probably 95% of the rest of the world would presently vote that GWB and Co are taking "Their Road". In short this 95 % would not agree with you.

Now sometimes the contra view, which would be yours, turns out to be correct. Sometimes not. History is yet to be written on this issue.

My feeling is that when someone thinks they are 'So Right', and voices that opinion as the Bush administration has, they are usually later proven to be wrong. In a few years we will more than likely know, just like we did with Nam. And just like with Nam I suspect that if we are shown to be wrong we will not readily admit it and pull out. We will stay involved and cause more unnecessary carnage. The last thing elitists usually admit to is a mistake.

Our country lacks leaders today, most notably in the Congress. The Congress imo is a larger problem than who is Pres, Bush or Kerry. Most everyone in Congress appears to want to be a goodtime Charlie who just goes with the flow.
