PART 3.

Action Now
In our view, November’s book-to-bill was consistent with our expectation for flattish growth in 2001, after an explosive 75% growth that we expect for 2000. We believe bookings will be driven primarily by industry trends, including continued shrinks, the adoption of new materials such as copper and low k, and the transition to 300mm diameter wafers going forward. In our opinion, the back end could see a few more months of below parity book-to-bill as a result of the Asian test house buildup in the earlier part of the year.

We believe many of our stocks, which are down significantly have already more than factored in the decline in November bookings. Accordingly, we expect no significant negative impact on our stocks as a result of these numbers. We expect the next major catalyst on our stocks to be capital budget announcements by chip companies in January 2001.
