You contradicted yourself. First you said that you didn't believe that SUNW sells desktop tools (wordprocessors/spreadsheets), and then you say that they have superior products on the desktop. Which is it?

You say that MSFT only has a monopoly on their own products. Well, I've got news for you, but their products comprise something like 87% of the desktop market, so this is not exactly insignificant.

My point is that people aren't going to gravitate to SUNW because as some on this thread have said "MSFT products suck, and Java Rules".
SUNW will continue to do extremely well, but for different reasons other than "MSFT sucks". All of the tools that you mention that you like on SUNW are not SUNW's own software. Thus, it is crazy to say that SUNW is going to become the new MSFT. They simply haven't shown that they can deliver a great desktop environment or desktop tools of their own.
