Oh I agree completely. I didn't mean to infer that shareholders are a non-concern, but, rather don't lose sight of the fact that ACCY's primary goal has to be to get itself up and running. Stock price is, of course, a major concern to all. Especially at the time of the issuance of stock to the player(s) who opt for that in lieu of cash.
I, too, was impressed with how well the stock held up given the delay. I think it's because ACCY is a stock almost everyone can identify with. You can touch it and feel it so to speak. People understand it even if they don't actually play golf. Most have at least held a golf club either on a course or at the local minature course! For that reason alone, I believe that retaining stock holders won't be as nearly difficult as would be with a new technology stock. Granted we lost "some" investors, but, I'm willing to bet the majority were daytraders and/or momentum players. I'm also willing to bet that once news is out and the tourny is a "go", this episode will be forgotten. The fact that Damian was excited and perhaps prematurely let it get out that news was coming shows me that not only are investors excited, but so is management!!! Things may, in fact, get very exciting in the next few weeks!<BG>
To reiterate, I think shareholder support is very important to the success of any company. But we, as shareholders, sometimes forget that a company's first priority is to "run the business", or we ALL lose. To accomplish that goal, the company may not always do "it" the way we want or expect, but, if we have faith in those who are running the show, then our (shareholders) needs will be met. And looking over the management bios of ACCY, I don't think that is going to be a problem at all!!IMHO. :)
I think I'll go clean my clubs right now<g>......................
