Your survey of help wanted ads is an interesting idea and probably would tell us more than some of the thin polls we have seen recently, if there were a way to make a credible survey.

Wind River's CEO recently stated that hiring programmers in Silicon Valley was nearly impossible and that much of their recruiting was being done abroad-- particularly in France and Israel.

If others have experienced the same problem, they also may be recruiting elsewhere. This probably would distort any survey made of Silicon Valley ads. don't you think?

I believe this thread has presented some of the best analysis I have seen anywhere on a market sector. Each company in the group has been discussed in a relatively unbiased way and their balance sheets have been examined at length.

If there is anything that will offer more insight into the embedded system market, I say bring it on.
