I've no idea why this historical pattern exists. The latest example was in August, 2000 when KLIC announced order cancellations and pushouts, the stock tanked, and equipment investors throughout SI scoffed at the company.

The sector soon followed.

The canary characterization has been formed by many observers.

I like to bottom fish during the winter when the pond is frozen as well. Unfortunately, it's mid-summer, the pond is very murky, and the bottom cannot be seen.
