I'll do the Kraber defence.

CFO's of public companies talk to analysts ALL THE TIME. They ALL DO. In fact, smaller public companies will BEG analysts to cover them by briefing them on the company. I don't like it, I think it smacks of insider trading, but it is what everyone does. A company, particularly a smallish one like WIND, that refused to talk to analysts would get no coverage, and therefore no interest, and therefore a low stock price. Is that what you want?

Also, I think the sell-off on Friday has as much to do with H&Q going negative as anything else. I have noticed several stocks that trade up or down on high volume with no news and then, a couple of weeks later, H&Q issues a Buy or Sell. I wouldn't be at all surprised if H&Q were "spreading the word" for a downgrade when Lehman made comments and everyone panicked. I think they were planning to issue something anyway and this event has given them a better excuse.
