We would be able to defend ourselves if we didn't spend 1400Billion each year on non-discretionary spending. The enemies of our country have loaded all this spending on ourselves on purpose so that we can't actually defend ourselves against anything major. If we had that much spending before WWII we would be listening to Japanese music right now.
