Jeff, I believe that those type of transactions may occur, though I wonder how large a percentage they are of the total picture. I have been selling collectibles and a little buying of specific items, for over 18 months. During that time I have never sensed those type of transactions happening. My experience tells me that most of the auctions are on the up and up. I don't know how to extrapolate that experience,if possible, to the total auction market. I will list my items on eBay as long as I feel that I will get my best price using their service. Ed...
