SparQ or Jaz?

Well, considering price alone, for your purposes SparQ sounds like a clear winner. You would have to get the IDE version to get the speed you need for video or music editing. If you're a Mac user, you'll have to decide between Jaz and SyJet, since there isn't and will not be a SCSI SparQ.

On the other hand, SparQ's reliability still hasn't been established, so you might want to consider that. Jaz reliability has been established, although I know that Rocky will disagree.

Also think about the fact that Jaz prices will be coming down, and that disks are already available for around 90 bucks in quantities of one.

The only other factor in your decision would be whether or not you need or might want to exhange disks with anyone else. If so, you would just want to get what the people with whom you're exchanging disks have.
