LWS- My information on Line 1 goes back to early last year. I have understood for some time that its capacity is around 4 million cells per year regardless of size (max 4x5 inches) if you work that number back you should be able to verify about 10 per minute. Since the conference call I have heard from more than one contact, who spoke with the company, some numbers that support a higher rate. If you remember, Lev mentioned a rate of 5 per minute, "initially", which seemed to leave it open for improvement.
If you use his conference call numbers, which he mentioned were conservative, it wouldn't take much more than 1 shift per day at 5 per minute for the 3000 batteries per day to break even. Another shift per day and you could well into the profit zone with just one assembly line. As I had posted since, I was pleased to hear Lev confirm that line 1 alone can make the company profitable.
If I am correct about the higher numbers, as I believe to be the case, all the better. To be conservative, use the lower numbers for line 1 to help decide if almost $1 per share earnings from the first of several assembly lines would indicate that Valence should be a good investment, once some contracts are announced. |
