I'd better add a rather confusing caveat here that perhaps Dave can clarify if he needs to.

There are two separate versions of Dev. Classic ASP and ASP.NET

I abandoned development of the Classic ASP version a few months ago in favor of starting over again and doing it in ASP.NET for a variety of reasons.

Despite what Microsoft wants people to think, Classic ASP and ASP.NET do NOT play well together.

Nearly everything I ever developed for the new site in Classic ASP has been rewritten in ASP.NET, but not everything. I believe Search is the only thing that hasn't been converted. I've added some things to the ASP.NET version that I hadn't written yet in Classic ASP, but will soon backtrack and get Search ported over.

What's this mean from a functional viewpoint?

Well, since Search is an ASP application, if you use it, you'll suddenly find yourself in the Classic ASP version of the site with no easy way to get back to the ASP.NET version.

Search is quite functional as it is with the exception of that large problem. If you use Search on Dev, keep in mind that you'll be out of the ASP.NET version of the site and will need to get back to it if you want to try out things like posting messages.

Once Search is rewritten, I'll move all of the old Classic ASP stuff out of that directory so we can quickly found out if I left any references to the old stuff in there.
