Norton Internet Security seems to be a resource hog. I recently had a virus which I discussed here. I decided I needed more security, so installed Norton Internet Security. My first impression was good, it has a spam blocker, popup blocker and all kinds of goodies, and I haven't had a pop up since. That part is good, the firewall seems to work well also but shortly after installing it, I noticed a problem. I hear the normal sounds from the pc, fans, etc humming along, then I hear things slow down. When this happens my cursor stops and gets draggy it just skips along, then in a bit I hear things speed back up and it works ok. This happens even now as I type this, it doesn't seem to matter if im simply viewing a web page or useing a program of some type. I have a 1.7 gig processor Win 2k pro 1 gig ram. This system is over two years old but has always been fast with no problem. I use Photoshop a lot which is a real hog as well, and have noticed this eratic behavior when editing. I think I have narrowed this down to Norton Internet Secruity. Last night I disconnected from the internet, uninstalled Internet Security and it seemed to help. I can't say it totally cured the problem but it did help a lot. I'm wondering if others here have any experience with Norton Internet Security, and if anyone has experienced similar problems. I've run spybot and there's nothing on my system as far as spyware or any of that garbage. I've run the test at PC Pitstop and it shows everything in great shape. TIA
