So one rumor is getting more and more likely to be true. The SparQ 1 Gigabyte drive for $199? Sign me up for buying one, even though I already have a Syjet. When I first heard the whispers about this product a week ago, I told some friends, who run a few multimedia studios here in the City, about this rumored Iomega-Margin-Killer. Even though they all have Zips and Jaz, they ALL said they would immediately buy this new SparQ as soon as it became available because of it's rumored specs (about the same as Jaz) and low, low price. If this rumor turns out to be 100% true, Iomega is in serious, serious trouble if they want to keep their margins up to support the valuation their stock is at right now.
Now it seems that SparQ may not be the only product Syquest delivers at Comdex. We shall see, but SYQT stock is all-too-willing to explode upwards in price at even the smallest hint of good news. This is great for us, and tells us The Street supports Syquest's comeback. In at 3 3/4. |
