Democracy, in contrast, systematically produces moderation. That's the essence of the median voter theorem. Even if almost everyone resents a market-dominant minority to some degree, politicians don't win by advocating genocide.

Not always. Depends on the ideology of the majority, and how much money the politicians promise them for taking out their resentments on the minority. He's wrong about the Holocaust being hidden. The final plans for exterminating the Jews were hidden, but all of Germany knew how the Jews had been degraded, dispossessed and finally shipped East.

It's an American fallacy to believe that democracy is always moderate. For a counter-example that an American can believe, remember that the rise of the Ku Klux Klan in the late 19th century was a highly democratic phenomenon.
