Globe says fuel cell race boosts Ballard Ballard Power Systems Inc BLD Shares issued 83,319,317 Apr 27 close $53.00 Wed 28 Apr 99 In the News The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, April 28, edition that Ballard Power Systems stock advanced 8.6 per cent yesterday on optimism that industrial companies are devoting more resources to using non-polluting fuel cells developed by the company. A Bloomberg News dispatch to the Globe reports that Robert Chewning, an analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in New York says he now expects the stock to rise to $60 in the next 12 months, $10 more than his original forecast. Ballard shares rose $4.20 to close at $53 yesterday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. About 700,000 shares changed hands, or four times the six-month daily average.
