"...SUNW 'attractive,' analyst
--1:11 pm - By Tomi Kilgore
Analyst Toni Sacconaghi at Sanford Bernstein attributes the 15 percent slide in the shares of Sun Microsystems (SUNW: news, msgs) on Friday to speculation the company would lower financial estimates during its mid-quarter update Thursday. He pointed out that the company's chairman and chief executive, Scott McNealy, will be present, and the update is scheduled after the market's close. Sacconaghi pointed out that typically, McNealy is not present and the call is held during the session. He says there is a "reasonable chance" that Sun Micro will lower expectations, but thinks the stock's valuation is attractive at current levels, relative to other large cap tech stocks. SUNW is changing hands at $22.75, down 44 cents from Friday. Earlier in the session, the stock hit a new 52-week low of $22.50. Sacconaghi added that at $20 or less, the valuation would be "compelling."..."
