JFD, I think that some level of government (GOP) will finally have hearings on whether the DOJ was too aggressive in their attacks on MSFT.
It will help in improving MSFT's image just as the Orin Hatch heading worked the other way.

Furthermore, if the DOJ tries to push the case right to the Supreme (Jackson is pleading for such a request), it will be another indication of DOJ trying to push through a case without giving MSFT the full process. They might be a reason why the DOJ won't request it. I don't know about the States. Jackson is right that this case is a matter of national interest but I think he is just using that excuse to avoid getting a lashing from the Appeals Court.

IMHO, it is about time that the government realizes what kind of stupid gambles they are taking with American dominance of the high tech world. I bet the Europeans and Asians are laughing and at the same time contemplating possible actions, although US government might actually voice opposition (maybe harsh opposition)to any foreign actions due to their own guilt.

I also read of Klein's visits to Europe a while ago to tell ---which to me meant he is saying you can go after MSFT without any retaliation by the American government. I bet this will come up with McCain's hearings along with any plan to send case to the Supreme Court.

BTW--I am going to buy this stock for the long term.
