"Everyone I know downloaded Netscape for free" I don't know about everyone, only my experience with netscape. I dl'ed it and I remember there was a time limit for free use of that browser & after the free, full functional demo, one was required to register & send in about $50. Of course things were changing very fast at that time, and still are, so I suppose the company policy you ran into was dependant on the time frame you used netscape. JH
