At 5:00 today we'll be able to put out the fire in our hair at the tax office. I work for them at home, but due to the loss of a key employee before the season started I was asked to take on a load I don't normally handle. I was happy to do it but it made me feel my age.

Speaking of fires, today in 2019 one broke out in the roof of Notre Dame cathedral. I remember feeling bad about the news even though I'm not a Roman Catholic. It just seemed symbolic to me about what's been going on in western culture for so long.
