Japan is now in recession and there is no recovery in sight; Japanese banks funded a lot of the Asian economies with risky loans that have now turned bad. If someone in Indonesia earns USD1200 per year, there's little chance that he's going to pay back a USD60,000 mortgage, much less a USD20,000 vehicle. Amazing.
