Motorola, about a year ago, purchased an equity stake in Neoware. However, according to Neoware's last conference call, they are not anticipating much (if any) business via Motorola. Motorola used to have about 9% of NCDI stock, but sold it a couple of years back. When they did hold the stock, they had a man, Edward F. Stiano on the board. It's possible that Motorola hasn't gotten what they wanted out of Noware (sic), but I personally don't get excited about these rumors.

BTW: I think it was on the Yahoo Boundless thread that someone referenced a NY Times article about IBM Thin Clients. That may also have been the cause of the recent runup. In fact, that would be the more likely source of the movement. As I've seen in the past, an IBM/NCD article usually causes a strong, one day, movement (up or down) where as a real buyout in the works would likely keep the stock trading towards the target price.
