It is a negative spin on the "for profit" healthcare market.

As much as people would like to believe that people are inherently egalitarian the fact that people have to argue for government provided services of any kind (beyond a few that appear to require government coordination) is ample proof that not all are. The central tenet of socialized medicine requires people to be good natured to work. Individuals have to restrict their natural tendency to consume unlimited quantities of a free good. Providers have to be willing to accept considerably less potential income because it looks like the right thing to do.

In the US it would be useful to compare socialized medicine to current socialized education for lessons of what the future might hold.

Currently the teacher's union is a huge power in the democrat party. They lobby to prevent any competition of any kid. they refuse to follow proven effective procedures because it limits their freedom to develop lesson plans their way. The quality of education in poor neighborhoods is significantly below the quality in wealthier neighborhoods.

Is bad medicine for the nation's poor the goal? Then lets barrel ahead with Socialized Medicine.

I am horrified at the prospect of it and find the whole idea to be morally repugnant.

OTOH it is more apparent when comparing the two why democrats need socialized medicine. The disgruntled medical staffs are likely to unionize. The unions be likely to join with democrats in attempt to fain power.

Talk about the ultimate irony! Medical professionals joining with the party that caused the drastic decline in their incomes to gain power.
