Phillip, there you have struck a tender note, Yes Canada is run by the best government money can buy. Crooked as snakes, but all covered up with beaurocratic justifications. 50% of taxes is wasted on overspending at all levels and the debt service. We do not have a democracy here(a true democracy needs over 50% vote wins) they call it a 'first past the post' system. If you have seven candidates and one gets 20% and the others average 11.x %, the 20% gets elected. So organized groups can get elected, and from time to time very liberal and left wings groups get elected and rape the treasury for fun and friends, and doctrinaire public spending. They do not even have a secret ballot in Parliament of all things(of course the USA is just as bad, no secret ballot in Congress).. Just where you need to free the politicians from influence, you have a viwed ballot, what crap. As if seeing how they vote does anything but let the voters coerce them. Get good people elected by over 50% rule, and let them have a secret ballot. That would get rid of the vote selling and coercing that goes on, as each could vote what they thought was right.
Canada has also forced many into an underground economy with taxes so high for nil benefits that they have reached the point of diminishing returns. Any new tax increase raises less money as it kills the business or drives it underground.
They are trying, but the 20% organized vote will get some liberals/socialists in soon do lose the gains. Socialists nearly wrecked the Ontario economy, and are trying to wreck the BC economy, the strength of far east investment is keeping BC strong, but if Hong Kong is really a success and China lets it alone the flight capital from HK will slow down a great deal(it has already, many went back) and BC will soon sink into an NDP morass of debt upon debt.

Re Apple, I think that version at the Hamfest was an early Apple II.
