LCOS is up due the announcement of "Lycos Store" where LCOS handles the
actual distribution through their own subcontractors. This is direct purchasing
from Lycos, involving selling over 4,000 specific products from major
retailers. The e-commerce connection is significant since it brings in revenue
from a new source, namely retailing (on-line).

Lycos opens Internet retail store

WALTHAM, Mass., Dec 9 (Reuters) - Lycos Inc., on Wednesday launched
Lycos Store, and online system
where shoppers can name-brand products directly from the popular Internet
portal company.

Online shoppers can access the Lycos Store, an expansion of its Lycos
Shopping Network, on the lycos.com
Shopping Network and through other Lycos Network sites including
tripod.com, whowhere.com and
hotbot.com.

Lycos said the store enhances existing relationships with its e-commerce
partners, such as Barnes & Noble
Inc.'s (NYSE:BKS - news) barnesandnoble.com, CDnow Inc. (Nasdaq:CDNW
- news), Preview Travel Inc.
(Nasdaq:PTVL - news) and Bluefly Inc. (Nasdaq:BFLY - news).
