I will be updating the Old Folk Portfolio over the weekend. I haven't done so yet because a lot of positions previously held have been sold this week and replaced with others - too many to list to be honest.

The goal for 2022 is to focus on higher yields and increase the dividend cash flows significantly, thus a lot of the low yield companies under a 2% yield have been sold and are being replaced. The portfolio update will show the portfolio as it stands at the close today.

The reason for the change is that 2022 is the retirement year and withdrawals will begin. Any of you who are currently retired might remember that uncertainty one feels when you can no longer fall back on the paycheck.

This portfolio currently generates more dividend income than is required during retirement but I want the margin of income safety to be such that one no longer feels those butterflies in the stomach.

The year 2022 is the year of "Escape Velocity" where one breaks away from the gravitational force of the workplace. The moon isn't the income objective, Mars is. ... Ha!
