How did you short stocks < $5 at Dart? Have you managed to do that recently?

Also, maybe a minor addition:

Around 1 year ago, or a bit more when I started, Datek allowed shorting almost any shares, especially at the NYSE & AMEX downto any level. That was stopped when the NS /NM signs appeared, soon after KTEL & ENMD zoomed.

The confusion about "margining" a stock, ie get money for the cert or buy on margin - and shorting a stock may be either fuelled or also misunderstood by Dart people:
There, a non marginable stock can not be borrowed - Unable to short sell this stock, it cannot be borrowed is the message. I tried that out on several NM stocks, none of which I got through.
