Making any such recommendation largely on the premise of less virus/worms attacks is pure bunk! No OS is perfectly secure. A properly configured and hardened system whether it be a PC or Mac will be pretty secure for most people. The reality is that most people encounter security problems because of their liberal use of their machine whereby they ignore common sense and download anything that has a hyperlink. The problem starts with the user not the system. As for the new iMac, it's overly expensive for most people who go around looking for something a couple of hundred dollars cheaper and where most software is easily available for a lower cost than on the Mac or they "borrow" their friend's copy. All the recommendations in the world will not change people's habits or convince them switching to a Mac is better for them in the long run. Many people, inlcuding myself, have had little impact in converting PC users to Mac except when the "shit hit the fan".
