IOMG Drives really worth it?

I have just blown a fortune on upgrading and purchasing computer parts. Though I'm in on IOMG and hope to stay long on it, I still do not have a zip or jazz on my system. Every one seems to think they are the best products out there, but the truth is, I look for the BEST product before I buy. My problems are big ones, and though you might not agree, IOMEGA's products are not the perfect solution, but they are the best available today.

First look at the zip drive, it's small at 100mb considering most apps and games take 30-50 megs minumum, and at $20 a disk, it's quite expensive at $.20 a meg. It's slow through the parallel port, and not every one has a scsi card.

Second, there's the new jazz drive. This drive has many disadvantages. First, it costs $400/$500 (Int/Ext). That's more than some want to pay. Second, at $100 a disk which isn't what they really cost considering major companies charge between $120 & $140 a disk, they're expensive. I could buy a hard drive for that price of the same size which contrary to the publics belief, is still faster than a jazz drive. The scsi card again is a problem as not every one has one, and since the jazz has no parallel or EIDE counterpart, it adds at least $100 to the cost of attaching a Jazz to your system.

Though I don't personally see myself buying one of their products any time soon, I do believe in the company. Their products kill the competition for now, and this company is going somewhere.

Just my LONG opinion to relieve my frustration after spending 4 hours looking over specs from HD's to MO drives to IO's products and more.

Maybe some one can help me out, what ever happened to the Epson $50 rebate on the zip? Did they stop it already?
