I have a serious question. There have been rumors that there will be a Mac OS that run's on intel chips. Does anyone know of any details to this rumor ? There will be an Apple produced OS called Rhapsody that will run on Intel chips. The Mac OS won't. Also....any Mac guru's...if there is/ will be a Mac OS that runs on Intel chips....is it still compatible with work done on a mac ?? i.e. same file formats ? No. The Mac stuff will run in something called the Blue Box, and this will be in the PPC version of Rhapsody only. Rhapsody will also have something called Yellow Box which will work on both PPC and Intel chips. Her current applications will run under Rhapsody/PPC in the blue box. Hopefully, within a year after Rhapsody comes out (Jan 98 release date) the apps will be updated to Yellow Box APIs so they can run on either platform then. -Russ
