I suspect you truly believe that the DOJ has snatched SUNW/AOL/IBM/etc. and the American public from failure and doom in just over 2-years?

IMO someone very important in this case will resign and let the cat out of the bag if they do not come to a favorable settlement soon. The independent mediator was only the beginning. He was Jackson's hand-picked and saw too much he did not like.

Every time I see Klein I get that feeling he is weary and never every though it would go this far. MSFT is ready willing and able to stay the course til they get their settlement, period. As their lawyers have already stated "The law is the law"

This is an election year and there is no way this case will be allowed to destroy the political horizon or be used by one side or the other as a benefit. The politicians have already gotten a taste of what to expect this past Tuesday if they don't get this done. They cannot put it on the back burner til after the elections cause G.Bush will jump on it and ride it all the way to the White House lawn.

P.S. Wouldn't be surprised if Clinton uses a scapegoat? As he cannot win by destroying MSFT or by allowing them to get by with a slap on the wrist at this point. But you better believe he will be SLICK!
